Gaia was gliding through the little space between the trees, he felt almost free. He landed on a leaf and plopped down on his butt. He let out a sigh before looking up at the clear blue sky; he had a small smile on his face. He reached his hands up into the air and fell back on the leaf; he couldn't help but feel a bit happy at the moment. He just felt at ease or at least for the moment, he didn't get this feeling very often. He looked at a leaf that was right above him and saw a cocoon; the life that would spring from it soon had probably developed into a now beautiful butterfly.

He stood up and got closer to it, he couldn’t see inside of it but he hoped that nothing would disturb its peace. He loved creatures as small as him, he knew how they felt and they knew his. It was just amazing how something as a caterpillar has a hardship of eating all of them time and not get eating or crushed by something, and then spins its cocoon to sleep until it finishes its transformation. Then when it leaves it becomes something beautiful with wings, a butterfly. He touched his wings and smiled, he slightly touched the cocoon. You will be the most beautiful butterfly. He mumbled to it then started to fly away.

He watched the cocoon as he flew away; he loved the joyous things that life brought. He landed on another tree, seeing another cocoon, this one was empty. His smile got wider; he was glad that this one had made it through the transformation. He went over to the cocoon and put his hand inside, it was slightly slimy but it was hard as a rock. It felt warm from the sun and he looked around hoping to see the butterfly but there wasn’t any to be seen. It must have flown far away by now.
